Molly Reviews: Grand Opening by Morticia Knight (Kiss of Leather Book 4)

Blurb:
The men of Kiss of Leather celebrate a beginning, but will the price be another ending?

The grand opening of Kiss of Leather draws near and the pressure is on to make sure everything is completed in time. Master Josh is a perfectionist, so no detail is too small in order to enhance the quality of the prestigious club they’ve all worked so tirelessly on. Unfortunately, the endless demands on Josh’s time have caused him to forget the more important things in life.

David’s love for Master Josh is overpowering at times, but lately, that love has been constantly tested. How can a sub in a fulltime D/s relationship serve a Master who’s never there? As things continue to deteriorate between him and Josh, David wonders if maybe his Master has tired of having to care for a sub full time.

By the time the grand opening arrives, Josh and David seem to have worked out their differences and David is hopeful for their future. The emotional collaring ceremony between Gavin and Kyle is a beautiful reminder of the power of love. But when an unexpected party crasher intrudes on the evening’s festivities, the men are reminded that there are still too many unanswered questions related to Corey’s kidnapping.

More than ever, the men of Kiss of Leather need to stand strong together. Will Josh and David be able to do the same?

Review:
I have been waiting for Josh and David to have a story since the beginning. You could tell there was more going on with them. I was not disappointed. We get to see everything come to a head and then see how happy they are at the end. I adore these two together and am so glad they get a happy ending. We also get to catch up with all of the other couples. It was nice getting to see the other guys one more time and know they’re still solidly in love and happy together.
David was a sweetheart. He made my heart hurt with how unsure he was through most of the story. He needed the guidance and grounding from his Dom and David floundered when Josh didn’t provide it. You could feel David’s desolation as you read. I liked how he stood up for himself towards the end of the story. How he let Josh know something needed to change or they wouldn’t make it. I knew he would be alright then.
Josh was so clueless. I was a little shocked at how deep it went. But when he asked Gavin for help it was easy to realized that Josh truly didn’t know what he was doing wrong. I liked how Josh was committed to doing whatever it took to keep David. When he was finally confronted with how deeply hurt David truly was that lightbulb went off and you could see Josh’s desperation.
I liked how we saw the issues between Josh and David. It was on page and you can feel the emotions between them and how thin they got stretched. We also get to see the breakdown on page as well. The scene where David lets Josh know how serious he is that things need to change is so emotion filled. The ending was quick though. We don’t get to see any of how David gets to where he’s ready to go back with Josh. Plus we only see one short scene where Josh handles his issue. It felt a little forced and needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I would have liked to see that conclusion come together more so I could feel it.
The storyline with Mike and Tony still feels open. There’s some things that still need resolved and they are definitely headed there. I liked the progress made in this story though. I was fascinated with the scenes revolving around that plot line. My favorite though was in the lawyers office. Oh man you can tell more’s going on there! I  can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I’m truly hoping there’s at least one more book in this series and its Chuck’s book. I love that we got to see Kiss of leather open in this book and all of the owners have their happily ever after. I love these guys and want more of them. However if there’s not another book in the series, this is a good ending for the guys because we get to see them all get happily ever afters.

Excerpt:
As he pulled on his black gloves, the buttery soft leather slipping on easily, the door knob to the office jiggled. A knock sounded. “Yes?” Josh twisted and stretched some more in his outfit. Yee gads. I’ll be walking around like Frankenstein all night. Thank God I’m not the one doing a demo.

“It’s me, Master.”

“Hold on, sweetheart.”

Josh padded over to let David in. He opened the door and gasped. David had obviously already changed into his club outfit in the members’ locker room. He’d wanted to surprise Josh and he’d certainly achieved his objective in quite a hot way.

David’s chest was covered in straps of shiny vinyl, placed asymmetrically across his torso, the glimpses of his creamy flesh a striking contrast to the black material. The light definition in his biceps was highlighted by the armless shirt. But it was the pair of vinyl shorty-shorts, silver studs lining the sides, and the fishnet stockings that’d caused Josh to react so strongly, his cock swelling against the restrictive leather of his own outfit.

“Turn around. Show me the back.” Josh’s tone had been soft, almost reverent.

David did as he was told, his delectable, round ass showcased to perfection. Josh allowed his gaze to travel down the length of David’s legs to the combat boots that boasted a thick, studded strap wrapped two times around the ankle. David completed the turn.

“Do you like it?”

Josh grunted. “Damn, sweetheart. You’re going to be the most gorgeous boy here tonight.”

A sweet blush rose to David’s cheeks. Josh kissed the pink of his skin on either side of his face, then pressed his lips to the heavy, engraved sterling collar he’d placed on his boy’s neck well over a year before. He was charmed all over again by how beautiful and unaffected David was.

“Thank you, Master.”

David tipped his chin up, closing his kohl-lined eyes, and silently offered his lips. Josh gladly accepted, taking his mouth gently, but thoroughly. The scarlet lip tint David wore tasted of strawberries, his skin scented with a sugary vanilla.

Oh yes. I could eat him up right this minute.
