Blurb:
For the first time in three years, Aya is finally free, but with his freedom comes the pain of all he’s lost. Seeing Akad and Marduk together makes him realize how badly he has messed up. By betraying Marduk, he ruined his chance with the one god he desires more than anything.
Aya needs time to heal and put his world back together, but the trial against the Order looms over him. As the trial begins, Akad, Marduk, and Aya are ensnared in a web of jealousy, backstabbing, and cut-throat politics. Were they crazy to think they could stand up to the Order? If the gods of the Order can still rip their lives apart, their chances of receiving justice may be next to impossible. But if they fail to bring the Order down, Aya may never be free from their grasp.

Review:
The journey to punish The Order was harder than I expected it to be. Siren was a pretty poor judge. She seemed to side with one group before things even began. Sekhmet was brutal in her “questioning”. I wondered if Aya was going to be lost forever with the way Seth was adamant about getting him back. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the story. Aya’s lack of faith in himself is heartbreaking.
I liked how the relationship between Akad, Marduk, and Aya, in twos and all three together, developed over the course of the story. Their individual relationships grew strong but it was obvious the three of them belonged together. I would have liked to see a tiny bit more development between Aya and Akad. There was some in the beginning but not much more until right at the end. I thought Marduk should have had more faith in Akad and more understanding of his position as supreme god and the requirements that go along with it. I was a bit confused about Akad’s role as supreme god. Was he the highest god or not? If he was, why was his dad and Siren over him?
If the series ends here I would be happy because the bad guys are receiving punishment and the three are together and clearly in love and will be together forever. But I am eager to read the next book in the series to find out what happens with everyone.
