Guest Post: A Home for the Holidays by Joe Cosentino

Bobby McGrath’s Christmas trip to the beautiful Italian Island of Capri to meet his eccentric, extended family offers stunning views—none more stunning than his third cousin, Paolo Mascobello, a real stocking stuffer. As the two young men embark on a relationship, Bobby, a driven law student, learns to relax and bask under the old Italian moon, and Paolo realizes there’s more to life than a frolic on the beach. For the two to find everlasting amore, Paulo must overcome his fear of commitment and learn to follow his dreams, and Bobby must get his wish for happily ever after.

Bobby stops by to talk to us about a vacation like no other. I’m a bit jealous of his trip since I’ve always wanted to travel to where he talks about. But his vacation is extra special for Bobby. Read and enjoy!
Hello Molly Lolly readers, I’m Bobby McGrath from Joe Cosentino’s holiday short novella, A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, published by Dreamspinner Press. Since you can’t see me, I’ll tell you I’m twenty five, tall and thin with a swimmer’s body, frizzy red hair and green eyes. Since you don’t know me, I’ll say I’m a law student from Philadelphia, loyal, and a bit of a romantic.

Molly asked me to tell you all about my favorite vacation. That’s an easy one. Last summer, like Kunta Kinte finding his roots, I met my wild and wacky Italian relatives in beautiful Capri, Italy. Most importantly, I met Paolo, my Italian third cousin. Paolo Mascobello, also in his mid-twenties, is the most gorgeous man I have ever seen in my life. His body is rippling with muscles, like a Greek god’s. He is average height with olive skin, wavy chestnut hair, sapphire eyes, a straight nose, and full red lips. Paolo also wears the most amazing designers’ clothes, which makes sense since his goal is to become a fashion designer (though he works as a stock boy in his father’s company).

Though immediately attracted to one another, Paolo and I got off to an awkward start when his mother forced him to be my tour guide around Capri. However, once we took off on Paolo’s motorcycle to see the breathtakingly beautiful sites of Capri, our attraction to one another grew into love.

We travelled to Via Krupp in the southern part of the island, and we walked hand in hand through what Italians call “the villas of the rich and famous,” underscored by the sparkling turquoise sea below. We swam naked in gorgeous white sand beaches surrounded by artistic white stone formations. We shared food and warm embraces at Mt. Solaro, the highest point on the Isle of Capri, marveling at the stunning views of the Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and the mountains of Calabria in the distance. Finally, we boated through the Grotta Azzurra (the Blue Grotto) with its iridescent sapphire and emerald water in the cove.

Unfortunately, while I am a serious person, Paolo is rebellious and carefree–and afraid of commitment. When I invited Paolo back to America, our relationship exploded. To get to know Paolo, me, and the rest of the family, and to see how our relationship resolved, you’ll have to read A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. It is bursting with the sights, scents, sounds, tastes, and romance of the magnificent island of Capri. It’s also a lot cheaper than going there! And after you read it, let the author know how you liked it at: Viva Italia!
