Review, Guest Post and Giveaway: Claimed by Desire by Skye Jones (Wild Hunters Book 2)

Dylan Roberts returns to the Wales of his birth a changed man after the violent death of his mate. Having turned his back on being a bounty hunter and sworn off love for life, all he wants now is revenge.

When he meets Aeron Lombardo, his new farmhand, Dylan resents the intense attraction that blossoms between them. But Aeron won’t stop pushing and soon things take a hot and sexy turn.

As passions rise, danger rears its ugly head. Now Dylan and Aeron must choose whether to separate or commit to one another totally. Will Dylan take the final step and claim his new mate?

I really enjoyed this story. I loved how Dylan was so reluctant to start something with Aeron but was helpless to stop his feelings from happening. These two are so wonderful together. You could feel how strong their emotions were very early on. But Dylan’s hurt at losing Nikos was so profound and deep. I liked getting to see Luke, Sean and Kayley again from the first book in the series, along with other pack members. I’m eager to see who the next couple is going to be. I’ve got some guesses but I’ll keep those thoughts to myself for now. I loved the ending and how Dylan and Aeron are wonderfully happy together. I want to know what’s happening with the subplot about vampires and shifters being targeted. But there’s a logical stopping point for that as well. If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you don’t have to worry about missing anything. Just pick up a copy and read!

Dylan stops by today to share with us a letter he wrote. Instead of writing the letter to a friend, or his mate, he wrote it to himself. But he wrote it to his five year younger self. He gives himself some great advice. Some of it all of us could use. Read and enjoy!
Hi there. Thanks for having me on your blog today. My character Dylan wrote a letter to the him of five years ago and he’d like to share it with you all.
Hey there,
You’ll probably not listen to the advice in this letter. Instead you’ll try to figure out a way to change events. Sadly, you can’t, and for that reason I am not going to tell you exactly what happens, where, when, or how. What I will do is share some advice with you.

Right now, you’re probably chasing your tail working two or three cases at once, juggling leading a pack and running the business side of the team. It has been two years since you took a vacation, and you are tired out. Your mate is tired out, too. Take a good look at the male you love and really see him. You’ll notice he has dark circles under his eyes, and his olive skin looks paler than usual.

Take a vacation! Don’t take any more cases for a few weeks, heck a month, and take a trip somewhere.

Dylan, you’re stubborn and you’re a workaholic and I’m here to tell you that everything you hold dear will one day be gone. When it is you won’t worry about the time you turned down an important case, the one you figured no one else but you could solve. What you will do is torture yourself, and I do mean torture, over and over again with thoughts of how you’d give anything – your last breath if need be – to have one more minute, just one more minute, with your mate and lover.

Nikos made you happy. He mellowed your temper, rounded your sharp corners, and helped you become the leader you were destined to be. You owe it to him, too, to take some time. Go sit in the sun. Lounge around a gorgeous pool in the Med somewhere. Take hours to linger over a meal, instead of shoveling a take-out away as quickly as you can.

Most of all spend as much time as you can focusing on Nikos. Make love to him. Talk to him. Listen to him. Look at his beautiful face, so familiar and so loved, and commit every detail to memory.

Enjoy lazy days and wild nights with your mate, and revel in it. One day he won’t be by your side anymore, and you will wish with all your heart that you’d done what I am telling you.

Yours, D.

“Turn around.” Dylan’s low voice echoed in the bathroom.

He did as instructed, skin goose bumping in the chill air. Thick fingers touched either side of his torso and gently pressed down into his lower back. “Does it hurt?”

He shook his head.

“Turn back around.”

He faced the front and watched as Dylan moved large hands over his torso, gentle but firm. He pressed a little more on the right hand side. “What about here? Hurt at all?”

“No.” He exhaled a shaky breath. No matter how much he told his dick not to take interest in the proceedings, he became more and more aroused at every touch.

Then Dylan did something so strange it snapped him out of his fog of desire. The man leaned in towards Aeron and sniffed him.

“Jesus.” Aeron took a step back, butting up against the sink behind him. “Did you just smell me?”
