Review and Giveaway: Unblocked by Marni Mann (Timber Towers Episode 4)

Derek Block is ready to fight.
Frankie Jordan must make a decision.
Their pasts are demanding attention.
Confessing the truth may not be enough.
But can their intense passion sustain them?
This is Episode Four of the five-episode Timber Towers novella series.

While I am still confused about some things going on, it’s because the last episode is coming up where all will (hopefully) be revealed. This episode was an improvement from episode 3. I really liked how Frankie and Derek’s relationship grew in this one. Granted Derek is still being stupid and not telling Frankie everything, and flat out hiding things from her. O course he gets upset when it comes out from someone else and Frankie calls him on it. But you can feel the emotion flowing between them and can’t help but continue to root for them. Reed is such a bad guy, I keep wanting to punch him for his douchey ways. However, I also think he’s redeemable. I kind of want to see him wind up happy in his own story where he atones for his past mistakes. I was shocked right along with Frankie when Derek said Will was with Julia, even if it’s implied they’re just screwing and not a full relationship. I still want Will and Brea to date. I ship those two so hard. I can’t wait to read the final episode and find out if Frankie and Derek can make it, all of the secrets to come out, and for my mind to be blown with all of it coming together. So excited!

“Tonight is about us, no one else, and that’s the way I want it to stay. No more interruptions,” Derek said.

I took a deep breath and reached for my wine. I wasn’t going to let my brain jump to conclusions. This weekend was about us. Not Taylor. Not Reed. “I agree.”

He leaned into the table, his hand moving higher up my leg. “Kiss me.”

We weren’t in a back booth, and this restaurant wasn’t nearly as private as The Hole. There were more servers, a more open floor plan, many other tables close by. What he was asking for was much more than the peck I had given him before I’d gone to the bathroom. “Those fingers,” I said, placing my hand on top of them, “aren’t planning on going any higher, are they?”

He licked his bottom lip, teasing me with just the swipe of his tongue and the whiskers that surrounded it. “They weren’t, no. But now that I know it’s on your mind, I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop them.”
