Blurb:
Never judge a sexy man by his cover.
Detective Beau Williams is hard-working, dedicated, and professional. He enjoys the finer things in life, but with his heavy caseload that includes what Beau suspects is a new serial killer, he has no time to enjoy much of anything. What the tall redhead needs is someone to shake him up a little.
Investigative Technician Austin Kent never met a snarky joke he didn’t like – or a set of stairs that couldn’t trip him up. One night after a devastating episode at work, Austin sees something else he likes – the handsome detective he’s seen around the station whom he’s always wondered about. But after he makes a drunken fool of himself in front of Detective Williams, he’s sure there’s no hope.
Beau and Austin’s worlds collide right away when Austin is sent to pick up some evidence at the station. Amidst a myriad of twists and turns in the troubling serial killer style murders of Vegas conventioneers, Austin and Beau discover that there’s more to the other than they’d originally thought. There might even be more they’d like to give – unless the killer has the final say.
Review:
Such a good story. I love this series so much. I enjoyed watching Austin and Beau learn how to be together. Beau had to learn to make his personal life a priority, even when he was working on a big case. Austin had to learn he was worthy of being with. I loved that they started slow and built their relationship as friends before getting physical. It progressed naturally. But once they did get physical, holy moly! Steamy, sexy, dirty awesomeness abounds! That shower scene?! WHEW! I was floored by the reveal of who the bad guy was and why he was doing the killings. I wasn’t expecting it and it was so well done. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but I recommend all of the books in this series so far.

Exclusive Excerpt:
The kiss began slowly, heating them again until they rubbed their slickened cocks together, Beau eager to taste more of Austin’s body before he fucked him. Breaking their connection, he peppered Austin’s face with kisses, the prickly stubble sensitizing his lips. He scraped his tongue across it, moaning from the rough feel and delicious salt.
He kneaded Austin’s ruddy flesh then glided his hands over the planes, the muscles under Austin’s skin hard and sexy. Austin writhed against him, sucking up marks on Beau’s chest, fondling his ass. His erection throbbed, their play too much, bringing Beau closer to the brink than he wanted.
“Come on. Lie down. I want to make love to you.”
Beau noted that Austin suddenly seemed shy. He bit his lip, couldn’t meet Beau’s gaze, answering instead by doing what Beau had told him to do. It was likely that Austin still had a ways to go before he could begin to accept that he was worthy of more than a fuck, and that Beau really thought of him in that way.
Austin stretched out on his back and Beau hovered over him, palms down on either side of his head, Beau’s legs on either side of Austin’s.
“Look at me. Please, Austin. I love your eyes.”
That seemed to get his attention. He finally met Beau’s gaze.
“Yeah?” His tone had been incredulous.
“Very much so. It was one of the first things I noticed about you.”
“As opposed to my pathetic drunken come-on attempt?”
Beau took a kiss to halt his self-deprecating words. When he’d finished, he continued to stare down at him. “Hush. I’m talking about your soulful eyes.”
Visibly swallowing, Austin licked his lips before speaking. “You’re the one with the beautiful eyes. I’ve never seen such a pale blue.” His voice had grown bolder as he’d gone on. “And I love the freckles.” He lifted a hand then trailed a finger down Beau’s arm, tracking it as he did. He glanced back up. “I… This is different for me.”
“Tell me how.”
“Being soft like this. I’m not sure I’ll be very good at it.”
“You’re doing great so far.” Beau pressed his lips to Austin’s forehead before drawing back. “Does it bother you?”
“Not like that… Not bad. It just might take a while to be open like you said.”
“You’re perfect right now and I want to be a part of that. That’s the only reason I don’t want you to hide.”
