Review: Freed by Garrett Leigh (Roads Book 2.5)

Blurb:
Missing Moment from Rare

Crazy events in the recent past have convinced Ash to take yet another step forward with Pete. He picks a special moment and a special place: the roof garden of their new home. Ash sees it as the final piece of their puzzle, but he’s not prepared for the feelings it invokes. Peace, belonging, and for the first time in his life, freedom.

Review:
This short story is packed with emotion again. It also makes me want more Ash and Pete books. I predicted this scene would be the basis of the short story after it was mentioned in Rare. I loved seeing how Ash was able to let go of one of his final hang ups when it comes to sex with Pete. My favorite line in the story is “I was pretty sure she was going to smoke that kid right out.” Talking about hot sauce in regards to Danni’s pregnancy. Laughed hysterically at that.

About Garrett:
Rainbow Award winner Garrett Leigh is a British writer and book designer, currently working for Dreamspinner Press, Loose Id, Riptide Publishing, and Black Jazz Press. Her protagonists will always always be tortured, crippled, broken, and deeply flawed. Throw in a tale of enduring true love, some stubbly facial hair, and a bunch of tattoos, and you’ve got yourself a Garrett special.

When not writing, Garrett can generally be found procrastinating on Twitter, cooking up a storm, or sitting on her behind doing as little as possible. That, and dreaming up new ways to torture her characters. Garrett believes in happy endings; she just likes to make her boys work for it.

Garrett also works as a freelance cover artist for various publishing houses and independent authors under the pseudonym G.D. Leigh. For cover art info, please visit blackjazzpress.com
